October is National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and even though the month of October is already underway, it is never to late to teach your children about bullying.

Many of us experienced bullying in some form as we were growing up so it isn’t that bullying is new for kids today.  The difference, however, is that because of social media, it has become more pervasive and we hear more and more about children taking their own lives as a result of being bullied in school.  It is imperative that we teach children about acceptable and unacceptable behavior.  It is also important to educate children about other people’s differences and to teach tolerance and acceptance of others. Bullying is not an issue that will stop when October is over — we should talk to our children and work on this problem continually.  Check-out our blog on bullying from last October: http://cloverleafschool.org/bullying/
